What is a mini-session?

Mini sessions are short, quick photo shoots that happen only on specific dates. I set up at one beautiful location and photograph several families back to back. Each mini session lasts for 20 minutes. You get focused time to capture your family’s current stage. The price point is lower than full sessions because of the shorter time frame and less images and a limited number of spots are offered on each mini session day. These sessions do fill up fast and previous mini-session clients are offered priority booking. Families love them for updated photos and holiday cards. Graduates love them for a professional capture of them with their favorite people before everyone departs for their adventures in their next stage of life. And moms? We spend so much time behind the camera capturing our families memories that it's a great opportunity for moms to get IN the photos with their kids. For these reasons, I offer 3 types of mini sessions during the year: Cap & Gown for graduates, Mom & Me and Holiday.

Mini- sessions are a quick pace that can keep kids engaged as they don’t have time to get bored or cranky. However, if you have kids that are nervous or slow to warm up, a mini-session may not be right for you. If you want more candid photos, to choose your own location and have time for many poses, outfit changes, etc than I would suggest booking a full family session!

I often photograph families with young kiddos, and parents sometimes worry that 20 minutes won’t be enough time. But we move quickly from pose to pose, keeping their interest the whole time. Mini sessions work great when you need fresh photos but want to keep things quick, simple and affordable.
