About Me


Hi! I am Lisa West, a family lifestyle photographer based in Sudbury, just outside Boston Massachusetts. I love working in natural light as much as possible with a relaxed and casual vibe for all of my photography sessions. 


My passion for photography began when I became a Mom, over a decade ago. Capturing my two sons in everyday moments and preserving them for years to come was the spark that has grown into a full blown love for photography. I have found that the in-between moments of life are where the real gems live and it is always my goal to try to save these moments forever. 


When I am not behind the lens, I am enjoying family time with my husband, two sons and two rescue dogs as well as spending time with friends that are like family. Dahlia flower farming with friends and traveling are other activities that I enjoy. I feel most at home by the ocean and love to incorporate coastal locations of Cape Cod, Nantucket and the north shore in my photos sessions too!


When you are raising a family the days may pass slowly, but your children change so quickly that being able to look back at each stage of their childhood is priceless. I love working with couples and families, and my natural joie de vivre lends itself to an effortless photo session for all. I would be honored to capture the moments of your family running, jumping, twirling, sharing a secret giggle, snuggling or sometimes even posing. Every family has a story to tell and I would love to help capture yours for years to come.

Non-profit support


Each year, Lisa West Photography supports a number of local non-profits in their fundraising endeavors through auction donations, photography services and sponsorships. As a non-profit board member myself, I am acutely aware of the critical efforts of our non-profit community and how important business support is to these endeavors. I am proud to support the important work that volunteers do in our community to improve our corner of the world via schools, local non-profits and other charitable organizations. Lisa made my senior feel comfortable for his photo shoot, even as she kept reminding him of best posturing for photos ;) We had to reschedule due to weather and that was not a problem either! Lisa is by far the best photographer we’ve ever hired for our family photos. She came with props, listened to our goals for the shoot, went out of her way to get the perfect shots (laying on the cold grass!) and just made the whole experience fun and easy!

We hired Lisa to get multi generational family photos as a surprise birthday gift for my mom. She was so easy to talk to when I initially called and worked with us to find a location despite the government shut down. The day of was freezing and really windy and she was an absolute pro, no one felt rushed and she gave great guidance on how to pose everyone for the best shot. We got our photos a week later and they are gorgeous. Everyone was thrilled with how they look and every photo was frame able.
