An engaging celebration...

I love photographing small, intimate events. Milestone birthday parties, family reunions, bridal and baby showers, engagement parties, rehearsal dinners and more are momentous events that deserve to be beautifully captured. There is so much planning and personalization to each event that give you a window into the person or couple being celebrated. The intimate nature of the event allows for a carefully curated guest list. This means the room is filled with people closest to those being celebrated. You can capture the authenticity of the relationships and the interactions are comfortable, familiar and natural. Often it's bringing together people from across the person/couple's life.

This event was held on a wonderful, winter night celebrating a newly engaged couple at Arturo's Restaurant in Westborough, MA. Engagement parties are such a special way to celebrate the couple and the excitement for their future together. The engagement party is the kick off of a series of events leading up to the wedding. It is also, often, the first time of the extended families coming together and meeting each other. Bringing close friends and relatives of the couple together and surrounded by love and joy.

This couple was joined by their families and friends from near and far on this evening. This lovely couple wove the photos from their engagement into the event as decor and included their pup on their cocktail napkins. Even though he couldn't be there physically (restaurant rules, eh?) he was incorporated into the event to highlight the importance of his place in their lives. It is these meaningful, personal touches that make small events so memorable.
